Ngutana-Lui always provide an engaging, informative day for our Year 4 students. The variety of rotations provide something to capture the interest of all individuals, although boomerang throwing is always a favourite!

Cathy Furminger – St John's Anglican College

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed their excursion to Ngutana-Lui! They were engaged through the entirety of the day and especially loved the hands-on activities such as boomerang throwing, dot painting and dance. They learnt important perspectives and cultural traditions that have now informed their learning throughout the school year. They often make connections with their learning from the day and refer to the teachings of the elders. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and grow at Ngutana-Lui Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Studies Centre.

This centre is an absolute gem, students are immersed in an experience where they learn about the traditional culture and lifestyle of First Nations People. The centre has a great variety of activities and many of the workshops allow students to be involved and engaged. We are already planning our return in 2025!!

Vanesse Miller – St Kevin's Benowa

St Kevin's, Benowa P-2 students have thoroughly enjoyed the annual incursion from Ngutana Lui staff during which they have learnt about many aspects of Indigenous culture, country, dance and story. The students have been thoroughly engaged in each of the activities offered by the team.

Nicole Plamenac – Albany Hills State School​

Our Year 4s love to come to Ngutana-Lui every year and experience a taste of Indigenous culture. The students look forward to playing fun Aboriginal games, relaxing with dot painting, listening to interesting stories about the Torres Strait and learning about bush medicine. They love the take home bracelets they plait, throwing a boomerang and they all love to giggle at their friends doing the Aboriginal dancing! Thank you Ngutana-Lui for providing these experiences for our students.
